As an artist who creates a wide array of artworks using many different materials, one component is nearly always accurate: lots of bright, vivid color! I utilize bright colors in nearly all my work, whether it be sculptural, paintings, or mixed media artworks. Oftentimes, I explore the spiritual world within my art pieces, and that can naturally lead into a more abstract focus within my works which, when aided in vivid coloring, leads to an uplifting aesthetic that flows through my pieces.
The intent behind the “Blossoming” abstract painting that I created Spring of 2022, is to demonstrate how a flower is beautiful no matter how they are shown to the world. The blossoming flower shows how a person’s identity grows more open and precious as they are themselves. The rainbow coloring in patterns on the petals is to indicate that belonging to the lgbtq+ community is a part of who you are - and that is wonderful!
